It is used in viticulture to remove suckers and water shoots that can harm the normal growth of the plant. It replaces manual work.
The sucker remover has a rotor with special rubber flails which, rotating at high speed, remove the suckers.
It can also be used to destroy weeds under the rows of vineyards or orchards. In this case the shaft with rubber flails can be replaced with one carrying nylon cords.
