Orbit 57275 Rain sensor for irrigation controllers

Rain sensor created to automatically stop the programmer watering cycle when it rains, without changing the pre-set program.

Inside the sensor there are some hydroscopic discs that swell in contact with the water and trigger a microswitch thus interrupting the irrigation cycle.

The subsequent evaporation of the water from the disks brings them back to their initial state by restoring the circuit and allowing the programmer to control the opening and closing of the solenoid valves.
