The control panel starts the pump when needed, stops it when it should and protects it against overload, lack of water and voltage swings. A wrong panel is the most common reason for burnt-out pumps or pumps that won't restart. The Termoverde control panel configurator asks you a few plain-language questions, starting from what matters most, the motor's rated current, and our technical department proposes the right panel, with accessories, prices and availability.
How to choose a control panel: the four values that matter
| Rated current The motor's amperes (A), shown on the nameplate: the protection is set on this value. |
Supply and power Single-phase 230 V or three-phase 400 V and power in kW: they decide the panel and starting type. |
| Number of pumps One, two or three pumps, alternating or with a standby pump that takes over in case of failure. |
Control Float switch, pressure switch, level probes, pressure transducer or inverter. |
Practical tip: photograph or copy the motor nameplate before you start. With current, voltage and power at hand you will answer in a few minutes.
Systems you can configure the panel for
Submersible well pumpsPanels with capacitor for single-phase pumps and dry-running protection with probes or electronic control. |
Booster setsStart and stop by pressure switch or transducer, for homes, apartment buildings and businesses. |
Constant pressure with inverterThe motor runs at the speed needed: steady pressure, lower consumption, fewer water hammers. |
Drainage and liftingFor clear water and sewage, with float switches and high-level alarm. |
Tank fillingAutomatic start and stop according to the level of the cistern or tank. |
IrrigationPanels for surface and submersible pumps, also controlled by a timer. |
Two or three pumpsAlternation to wear the pumps evenly and standby in case of failure. |
Alarms and remote controlLevel and fault signals, with alerts and control from your phone. |
Replacing a faulty panelWith the brand and model of the old panel, or of the pump, we find the equivalent. |
Fire-fighting and special casesWe collect the essential data and the technician chooses the panel on the project. |
Starting and protections
Every proposed panel is sized on the motor data and includes the protections needed:
✔ Direct starting: for smaller powers, simple and cost-effective.
✔ Reduced starting: star-delta, impedances or soft start for larger motors, to limit inrush current.
✔ Dry running: float switches, probes or electronic control stop the pump when water runs out.
✔ Motor protection: against overload, phase loss and out-of-range voltage.
Why ask the Termoverde technical department
✔ Set on real data: the panel is chosen on your motor's current, voltage and power.
✔ From 0.37 to over 200 kW: electromechanical and electronic panels for every power.
✔ Alternatives explained: next to the main solution, an alternative with the differences made clear.
✔ In your language: write as you prefer; we ship across Italy and abroad.
Control panel configurator FAQ
How much does it cost?
Nothing: the configurator and the technical department's proposal are free and with no obligation.
I don't know the rated current: can I still use it?
Yes: answer I don't know and write the pump's brand and model; if needed, the technician will ask for a photo of the nameplate.
Single-phase or three-phase?
The nameplate tells you: 230 V is single-phase, 400 V is three-phase. The panel must match the motor's supply.
Is a panel with inverter worth it?
Yes, if you want constant pressure and lower consumption; for simple emptying a float-switch panel is enough.
Does the panel suit pumps of any brand?
Yes: it is chosen on the motor's electrical data, not on the pump brand.
Can I replace a faulty panel?
Yes: write the brand and model of the old panel or of the pump and we find the equivalent.
