How to choose a water heater: the four values that matter

Rule of thumb: 1 litre stored at 65 °C gives about 2 litres of water at 40 °C for the shower. An 80-litre tank usually suits 2-3 people with one bathroom.

How many litres do I need?

As a guide, 30-50 litres for 1 person, 50-80 for 2, 80-100 for 3, 100-120 for 4 and 150-200 with a bath or two bathrooms.

What if I don't know some values?

Answer I don't know: we use a safe value and, if it is decisive, the technician will ask you.

Can I replace my water heater?

Yes: write the brand, model and litres on the label and we find the best replacement.

Electric or indirect?

If you have a boiler, fireplace or solar panels, an indirect heater uses that heat and needs less electricity; otherwise electric is enough.

Do you have gas water heaters for homes?

The gas models we sell are tanks of 300 litres and up, suited to businesses and large users.
